Growing Conditions

The vineyard is located on the lower slope below the winery, with south-west exposure. Planted in 1997, 1.46 hectares. Soils are Galestro (Clay and Schist) and farmed organically.

Harvest

Hand harvested. Grapes are sorted in the vines

Bottling

Wine ages in bottle for at least 12 months before release

Winemaking

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Neither filtered nor fined

Aging

Wine ages for 7 to 8 months in a combination of 10HL Italian oak botti and 5-7HL tonneaux of 4-5 passages. After barrel aging, wine ages in stainless steel tanks for 10 to 12 months

Nose

Bright cherry fruit and earthy, oregano-like aromas.

Palate

This bottling evokes frutti di bosco, scorched earth, and a touch of spice, pungently savory with herbaceous reminders of the Tuscan countryside.
